Its okay not to like what someone said but not okay to slap them for it, there really is no cause for that kind of behavoir
I've seen rows turn violent with my mum and stepdad something which is normally caused by being too drunk, its been a source of panic for me for years but its normally mum who lashes out first due to my dad abusing her when they were together its sad but if it happened to you then i suggest leave that person while you can and dont let them get any sort of hold on you
